Summary

In week 48 (November 27–December 3), SOS Médecins reported stable overall activity among adults and children.

For seasonal illnesses, the increase in activity was moderate among children, compared to the significant rise observed last week. Notably, there was an increase in consultations for asthma among children under 2 years old (+16%, +17 consultations) and infectious conjunctivitis among children aged 2–14 years (+27%, +69 consultations). Activity related to bronchiolitis remained stable at 734 consultations for the second consecutive week. Among adults, an increase was observed primarily for gastroenteritis (+11%, +373 consultations) and upper respiratory tract conditions (+9%, +732 consultations). Finally, there was an increase in consultations for bronchitis across all age groups, at levels similar to the previous two years. This increase was most pronounced among those aged 15–74, with a rise of nearly 25%, or 446 additional consultations.

Among the most common conditions across all age groups, there was a sharp increase in visits for influenza/flu-like illness (+50%). This increase is more pronounced in the 2–14 age group (+64%, +152 visits) and the 15–74 age group (+47%, +386 visits). This trend appears similar to that observed during the same period last year.
