Summary
In week 33 (August 13–19), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined among children aged 2–14 (-10%, or -976 visits), remained stable among children under 2 and adults over 75, and rose slightly among adults aged 15–74 (+4%, or +1,375 visits).
Among seasonal conditions, there was a slight increase in visits for infectious conjunctivitis among children under 2 years old (+12%, or +11 visits), insect bites among 2- to 14-year-olds (+10%, or +23 visits), meningitis (+113%, or +9 visits) among those aged 15–74. Furthermore, indicators directly linked to heat are declining across all age groups, with the exception of dehydration, which remains stable among children under 15.
Among non-specific indicators, there was an increase in visits for asthma (+8%, or +24 visits) among those aged 15–74, isolated fever (+35%, or +33 visits), and malaise (+21%, or +20 visits) among those over 75.
Changes in the most common conditions are primarily observed for digestive and respiratory conditions (in adults), with an increase in visits for:
diarrhea (+40%) and gastroenteritis (+6%) among children under 2, abdominal pain among those aged 2–14 (+14%) and adults (+10%), various digestive disorders among those aged 15–74 (+15%),
ENT infections (+8%) among those aged 15–74 and bronchitis among adults (+9%). There was also an increase in visits for trauma among children aged 2–14, urinary tract infections and dental conditions among those aged 15–74, low back pain among adults, and anxiety among those over 75.
Finally, visits for measles increased by 3 among those aged 2–14.
