In week 33 (August 12–18, 2019), total SOS Médecins activity increased among children under 2 years of age (+10%, or 303 more visits), among those aged 15–74 (+6%, or 2,207 more visits), and among those aged 75 and older (+6%, or 516 more visits), while remaining stable among those aged 2–14.

Over the past week, most non-specific and seasonal indicators remained stable or even declined, with the exception of cases involving:

  • asthma attacks among those aged 2–14 (+52%, or +34 cases) and those aged 15–74 (+19%, or +50 cases);

  • insect bites among 2- to 14-year-olds (+9%, or +28 visits) and those aged 75 and older (+52%, or +16 visits);

  • allergies in those over 15 years old (+9%, or +65 procedures).

Among the most common conditions, several indicators are on the rise, notably the number of cases for:

  • fungal infections in children under 2 years old (+67%);

  • trauma among 2- to 14-year-olds (+15%) and 15- to 74-year-olds (+7%);

  • gastrointestinal conditions in children, including gastroenteritis (+8%), acute abdominal pain (+11%), and diarrhea (+35%);

  • upper respiratory tract infections (+11%), urinary tract infections (+20%), dental conditions (+15%), and anxiety (+10%) in adults;

  • deaths among those aged 75 and older (+12%).
