SOS Médecins National Newsletter, April 6, 2020

Summary

In Week 14 (March 30 to April 5, 2020), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable among those aged 65 and older and declined in other age groups.

Over the past week, 8,790 cases across all age groups involving suspected COVID-19 were recorded, representing 19% of total activity. These cases are down by 28%, or 3,374 cases, compared to Week 13. Except among children under 15, for whom cases involving upper respiratory tract conditions rank first, COVID-19 represents the most frequent diagnosis for other age groups. Regionally, the majority of visits are observed in Île-de-France (25%), Grand-Est (13%), and Nouvelle-Aquitaine (12%).

Among the 10 most common conditions, notable increases in procedures were observed among those over 15 for stroke (+56%) and heart failure (+30%), among those under 15 and those aged 65 and older for anxiety (+15%), and across all age groups (+25%) for trauma (up to +42% among those aged 45–64).
