SOS Médecins National Newsletter, April 10, 2012
For the week of April 3–9, SOS Médecin’s activity remained stable both nationally and across regions for all age groups, at a level comparable to the same period last year. Note a slight increase in activity over the last few days, likely related to the Easter weekend. Activity related to asthma attacks and allergies is down over the period, both in terms of call reasons and diagnoses, except among children under 5 (activity slightly up for asthma attacks and stable for allergies). The "asthma attack" indicator is higher than last year for the same period. Activity related to gastroenteritis is stable nationwide, at a level comparable to last year for the same period. There was a slight decrease among those aged 75 and older (-14%). The measles indicator remained stable over the period. The death indicator showed a slight increase, but remained at a level comparable to the two previous seasons. A slight increase in ear infections was observed among children under 15 (+14%) (Data not shown).
