Summary
The number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations has increased by about 10% among children under 2 years of age and by about 4% among adults over 75 years of age.
Among children under 2 years of age, visits and hospitalizations for bronchiolitis, acute bronchitis, and pneumonia have increased by 20 to 30%, with numbers within the expected range for bronchiolitis but higher than in previous years for bronchitis and pneumonia.
