In Week 26 (June 27–July 3, 2022), emergency department visits and hospitalizations following visits were down slightly among 2- to 14-year-olds (-9%, or 7,065 visits, and -8%, or 397 hospitalizations) and among 15- to 74-year-olds (-5%, or 13,649 visits, and -5%, or 1,961 hospitalizations), while remaining stable in other age groups.

For the fourth consecutive week, visits for suspected COVID-19 across all age groups continued to rise (7,831 vs. 5,746 visits, or +36% vs. +43% in Week 25) in all age groups: +46% among children (or +357 visits) and +35% among adults (+1,728 visits). The share of activity across all age groups is slightly up (2.4% vs. 1.7% in Week 25), and the proportion of hospitalizations following a visit remains stable (29% vs. 30% in Week 25).

At the regional level, the highest increases were observed in Réunion (+90%, or +28 visits), Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (+54%, or +125 visits), Normandy (+45%, or +24 visits), Corsica (+41%, or +34 visits), and Grand-Est (+40%, or +127 visits). Since the start of surveillance on February 24, 2020, 819,287 emergency department visits for suspected COVID-19 have been recorded.

Most other indicators are stable or declining, with the exception of an increase in visits—though with low case numbers—for insect bites in children (+8%, or +38 visits), influenza/flu-like illness among adults (+15%, or +44 visits), and stroke specifically among people aged 75 and older (+14%, or +182 visits).
