Key Points

  • In Week 07 (February 9–15), the number of emergency department visits and subsequent hospitalizations decreased among children aged 2–14 (-12%, or 8,133 fewer visits and 662 fewer hospitalizations). Activity remained stable in other age groups compared to the previous week.

  • Emergency department visits for respiratory conditions were stable or down across all age groups. Influenza, in particular, saw the sharpest decline across all age groups (-31%, or 1,853 fewer visits).

  • Among other indicators, there was an increase in visits due to suicide attempts among those aged 65 and older (+29%, or +31 visits).
