  • Nationally, based on INSEE data, the number of deaths across all age groups, which showed a moderate excess between weeks 12 and 17, appears to have returned to within the usual range of fluctuation in week 18.

  • This excess of deaths mainly affected people aged 65–84 (still above normal in Week 18) and those over 85 (who returned to normal fluctuation ranges in Week 17).

  • The number of electronically certified deaths decreased slightly in Week 19 (remaining stable among those aged 65–84).
