Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, January 21, 2020

Summary

At the national level, there was an increase in deaths among adults aged 15–64 during weeks 51 and 52 of 2019 (December 16–29). Mortality appears to have returned to its usual range of fluctuation in S01-2020.
Mortality among children and adults over 65 remains close to expected levels for this period (Figures 1–3).
These observations should be interpreted with caution, as the data are still unconsolidated due to the usual delays in reporting. Their purpose is to describe trends in mortality without linking them to any current events.
Based on data from electronic certification, 2,595 deaths were recorded in week 03 (January 13–19, 2020).
