Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, February 11, 2020

Summary

Nationwide, in week 05 (January 27–February 2, 2020), mortality remained within the usual range of fluctuation across all age groups following a moderate increase in the number of deaths between weeks 51 of 2019 and 1 of 2020 (December 16 to January 5) among those aged 15–64 and among those aged 65 and older in week 2 (January 6–12, 2020).

These observations should be interpreted with caution, as the data are not yet consolidated due to the usual transmission delays. Their purpose is to describe trends in mortality, without linking them to any current events.

Based on data from electronic certification, 2,557 deaths were recorded in week 06 (February 3–9, 2020).
