The pursuit of effectiveness and efficiency in public policy is a growing concern at both the national and international levels, driven by the adoption of evidence-based approaches and interventions. This is the primary objective of prevention registries.

What is a registry in health prevention and promotion?

Also referred to as a “best practices portal” in the literature, a registry uses recognized standardized criteria and tools. Its work is based on a clear, collaborative, and peer-reviewed scientific process. The platform offers accessible formats to identify what works and what does not in prevention. A registry is transparent (no bias, no ineffectiveness) and conducts original research. It is active and keeps its information up to date.

What is ReperPrev?

ReperPrev.fr is a reference resource for decision-makers, professionals, public health policymakers, researchers, organizations, and funders to help them prioritize the use of or support for interventions that have proven effective.
Santé publique France provides its expertise and tools to support professionals in the fields of prevention and public health, as well as community-based actors, thereby promoting the development of prevention and health promotion that closely aligns with local needs. The agency thus ensures the scientific quality of the registry.

What is the registry’s objective?

The primary objective of this registry is to address national and regional needs by comprehensively identifying effective or promising interventions in prevention and health promotion, following a scientific process recognized by international registries in the field.

An evaluation committee established in 2022 supports the Registry’s work. Its mission is to validate, based on scientific criteria, the eligibility of the interventions submitted to it and their classification level. Interventions are selected, evaluated, and classified into five levels, ranging from a simple description of the intervention (Level 1) to one or more independent replications that demonstrate, once again, effectiveness for a similar target population (Level 4), or even the replication of a positive impact supported by monitoring of implementation quality (Level 5).
