Lead Poisoning in France and Prevention: A Current Overview.

While older, dilapidated housing containing lead-based paint is the main cause of lead poisoning in France, there are many other sources of exposure; these include recreational or occupational activities involving materials containing lead, exposure to soil contaminated by closed-down industrial sites and mines, and the use of certain types of tableware or cosmetics. The annual number of lead poisoning cases, which stood at 126 in 2014, has decreased by two-thirds over the past twenty years.
