For children aged 0–4, the number of prescriptions in 2023 is now slightly lower than in 2019. The number of prescriptions remains particularly high among children and at the end of 2023 (linked to outbreaks of common winter infections). However, common winter infections rarely warrant a prescription for antibiotics. Furthermore, while antibiotic prescriptions by general practitioners decreased by 1.3% in 2023 compared to 2022, those by specialists and dentists increased.
