Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika
Nearly 400 locally transmitted cases of chikungunya in the region
Since the last bulletin, four new episodes of local transmission of chikungunya have been identified: two in Bouches-du-Rhône, one in Var, and one in Vaucluse. Several isolated cases with undetermined exposure have also been identified.
The Paca region is the most affected by local chikungunya transmission, with a total of 32 local transmission outbreaks and 395 cases linked to these outbreaks (+48 since the last update). Four dengue outbreaks totaling 15 cases (+1) have also been identified.
West Nile virus infections
The Paca region has recorded 26 cases of WNV infection (+1 since the last update in the Bouches-du-Rhône).
Asthma at the Start of the School Year
In Week 40, asthma-related visits among children under 15 decreased at SOS Médecins clinics (39 medical procedures vs. 47 in Week 39), while they increased in hospital emergency departments: 260 emergency department visits (vs. 244 in Week 39), 38% of which resulted in hospitalization (98 vs. 75 in S39).
Acute respiratory infections
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses: activity rising to a low level.
Bronchiolitis (under 1 year): activity on the rise.
COVID-19: activity slightly on the rise.
Mortality
No excess mortality observed.
