Key Points

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • The Paca region is the region in France most affected by local transmission of chikungunya, with a total of 34 outbreaks and 438 cases linked to these outbreaks (+7 cases since the last update). Of the 15 outbreaks still active, 4 appear to be ongoing. In addition, 14 isolated cases with multiple exposures have been identified in the region.

  • Four dengue outbreaks totaling 16 cases (no new cases) have also been identified. All have been closed.

West Nile Virus Infections

  • In 2025, the Paca region recorded 28 human cases of West Nile virus infection (no new cases since the last update): 17 in Bouches-du-Rhône, 9 in Var, and 2 in Vaucluse.

Acute respiratory infections

  • Influenza and influenza-like illnesses: SOS Médecins and emergency department activity comparable to that observed during the same period last season; SOS Médecins activity is decreasing.

  • Bronchiolitis (under 1 year): SOS Médecins and emergency department activity comparable to that observed during the same period last season; SOS Médecins activity is decreasing.

  • COVID-19: SOS Médecins and emergency department activity lower than that observed during the same period last season.
