Key Points

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • Decline in the number of new locally transmitted cases for the fourth consecutive week

  • The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) region is the most affected region in France by local transmission of chikungunya, with a total of 34 outbreaks and 443 cases linked to these outbreaks (+5 cases since the last update). Of the 12 outbreaks still active, 2 appear to remain active. In addition, 14 isolated cases with multiple exposures have been identified in the region.

  • Four dengue outbreaks totaling 16 cases (no new cases) have also been identified. All have been closed.

West Nile Virus Infections

  • In 2025, the Paca region recorded 28 human cases of West Nile virus infection (no new cases since the last update): 17 in Bouches-du-Rhône, 9 in Var, and 2 in Vaucluse.

Acute respiratory infections

  • Influenza and influenza-like illnesses: activity levels at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments comparable to those observed during the same period last season; SOS Médecins activity slightly down.

  • Bronchiolitis (under 1 year): activity levels at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments comparable to those observed last season during the same period; emergency department activity slightly down, SOS Médecins activity up.

  • COVID-19: Activity levels at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments are comparable to those observed during the same period last season.
