Since the last bulletin, three new episodes of local transmission have been identified: one episode of chikungunya in Toulon in the Var department (1 case), one episode of dengue in Aubagne in the Bouches-du-Rhône department (1 case), and one episode of dengue in Sanary-sur-Mer (1 case).
In total, 18 locally transmitted cases of chikungunya and 2 locally transmitted cases of dengue have already been identified in the region in 2025.
Since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 156 imported cases (+11 since the last update) have been identified in the region: 77 cases of dengue, 78 of chikungunya, and 1 case of Zika.
Heatwave
No heat wave is currently underway or expected in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in the coming days.
Activity at emergency services and SOS Médecins associations related to the heat has changed little.
Measles
The spread of measles slowed in June: 6 cases began showing symptoms in June, bringing the total number of measles cases since the start of the year to 103. The spread in 2025 is significantly higher than in 2024. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of cases involved under-vaccinated individuals.
