Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika
As of October 1, no new locally transmitted cases have been reported in Corsica since week 33. The current tally, which remains unchanged, is 3 locally transmitted chikungunya outbreaks and 18 cases in Corsica.
In mainland France, 76 episodes of local vector-borne transmission have been identified: 65 episodes of chikungunya (+11 compared to last week) and 11 episodes of dengue (no new episodes compared to last week).
Finally, since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 5 imported cases of dengue (+2 compared to last week) and 3 imported cases of chikungunya (no new cases compared to last week) have been confirmed in Corsica.
Asthma at the Start of the School Year
In Corsica during Week 39, asthma-related activity at SOS Médecins among children under 15 continued to rise: 31 medical procedures and a 7.1% share of activity, compared to 26 procedures and a 5.4% share of activity in Week 38. This increase was also observed in emergency departments, with 12 emergency visits and a 3.7% share of activity (compared to 8 visits and a 2.6% share of activity in week 38).
In both networks, the level of asthma-related care for children under 15 remained broadly similar to that observed in previous years.
Acute Respiratory Infections
Epidemiological surveillance of acute respiratory infections for the 2025–2026 winter season began on September 29, 2025. The first indicators will be published in the weekly bulletin on October 8.
Mortality
No excess mortality observed.
