Key Points
Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika
As of July 29, eleven locally transmitted cases of chikungunya (five new cases compared to last week) have been detected in the municipality of Grosseto-Prugna (Southern Corsica). Additionally, another case is currently under investigation (a suspected case already mentioned last week).
At the same time, thirteen additional episodes of local transmission of chikungunya (+1 since the last update) and five episodes of local transmission of dengue (+2 since the last update) have been identified on the mainland.
Since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 3 imported cases of dengue and 3 imported cases of chikungunya have been confirmed in Corsica (no new cases compared to last week).
Heat Wave
No heat wave is currently underway or expected in Corsica in the coming days.
Heat-related activity in emergency services is declining and below seasonal expectations. No medical interventions for heat-related conditions were recorded by SOS Médecins in week 30.
