Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika
As of August 26, no new local transmission outbreak has been detected on the island compared to last week, nor have any new local cases been identified within previously identified outbreaks. However, following further investigations, the case initially identified in Porto-Vecchio has been linked to a local transmission outbreak in Antibes (PACA).
Furthermore, since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 3 imported cases of dengue and 3 imported cases of chikungunya have been confirmed in Corsica (no new cases compared to last week).
Heatwave
No heat wave is currently underway or expected in Corsica in the coming days.
Heat-related activity in emergency departments is stable, or even slightly decreasing, and remains slightly above the levels observed in previous years.
Asthma at the Start of the School Year
In Corsica, asthma-related activity at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments among children under 15 is low and below levels observed in previous years.
