Key Points
COVID-19
Decrease in viral circulation as measured by biological indicators.
Most other indicators tracked as part of this surveillance have stabilized or decreased, with the exception of an increase in reported cases among residents in long-term care facilities.
Chikungunya, dengue, Zika
Since the start of enhanced surveillance, 23 imported cases of dengue and 1 imported case of chikungunya have been identified in the region.
Three episodes of local dengue transmission and 51 cases have been identified in the region.
West Nile virus
Five cases of West Nile virus infection have been confirmed by the CNR. These are locally transmitted cases involving individuals residing in or having stayed in the Bouches-du-Rhône (2) and Var (3) departments.
Four equine cases were also confirmed by the LNR in the Var department in August and September.
Monkeypox
As of November 1, 2022, 285 confirmed cases among residents of the Paca region had been reported.
Bronchiolitis
Second week of the outbreak.
Emergency departments - The proportion of visits for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age is rising sharply (14.0% vs. 10.9% in Week 42).
SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age is rising sharply (7.2% vs. 5.7% in Week 42).
Virological data - The number of RSV cases detected in Week 43 by the Rénal network is rising sharply (328 RSV cases have been isolated since Week 36).
Influenza
Emergency departments - Emergency department activity related to influenza-like illnesses remains low.
SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for a diagnosis of influenza-like illness is stable.
Sentinel Network - The incidence rate for influenza-like illness reported by the Sentinel Network in Week 43, not yet consolidated, is 132 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [47; 217]).
Virological surveillance - Since the start of surveillance, the Rénal network has isolated 82 type A viruses and 11 type B viruses. Physicians in the Sentinelles network have isolated 3 influenza viruses.
