COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Corsica, June 4, 2020

Key indicators

  • Sentinelles network: incidence of acute respiratory infections at 27 per 100,000 inhabitants in S22, stable compared to S21;

  • SOS-Médecins: 1% of consultations were COVID-19-related in S22. The proportion of cases remains very low;

  • Laboratories (community and hospital-based): positivity rate of 0.4%, which remains very low;

  • Emergency departments: 2% of visits were COVID-19-related in Week 22; activity remains low;

  • Nursing homes: no new cases among residents since late April. Thirteen residents have died in nursing homes and 10 in the hospital;

  • Hospitalizations for COVID-19 (SI-VIC): 27 patients hospitalized (across all departments) as of June 2, including 5 in intensive care (COVID-19-specific or otherwise). The decline in the number of hospitalized patients continues;

  • All-cause mortality: Mortality remains around the expected seasonal figures (data for the last week not yet consolidated);

  • Clusters: One cluster involving 3 people has been identified since the lifting of lockdown on May 11. In the absence of new cases, this cluster is now closed.
