The region experienced three heat waves during the summer of 2025. The heat’s impact on health resulted in 712 heat-related deaths over the course of the summer. In addition, there were 2,387 emergency room visits (1,578 of which resulted in hospitalization) and 399 SOS Médecins calls for iCanicule.
