The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region experienced three heat waves during the summer of 2024. The health impact of the heat resulted in 500 heat-related deaths over the course of the summer. In addition, there were 1,949 emergency room visits (1,295 of which resulted in hospitalization) and 303 SOS Médecins interventions for iCanicule. Link to the Heat and Health Bulletin in PACA.
