The Prevagest PACA survey, "Knowledge and Attitudes Regarding the Risk of Mother-to-Child Transmission and HIV Screening," was conducted among a sample of pregnant women in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in 1992 to respond to a request from the World Health Organization (WHO) for sociological and psychological monitoring of the population’s knowledge and attitudes toward AIDS. The results provide information on perceptions of HIV testing and personal risk, knowledge of modes of transmission of the virus, and assessments of the social accessibility of testing.
