In Avignon, parent-child drop-in centers are available to support families in their parenting journey.

Based on an assessment that highlighted the community’s needs, the city of Avignon has established drop-in centers for parents and their children in two underserved neighborhoods. Three parent-child drop-in centers, run by the Municipal Social Action Center (CCAS), provide families in need with a space where they can be heard, gain knowledge, and build confidence in their own parenting skills. The goal is to support parents in order to facilitate the child’s optimal development. The Municipal Social Action Center has created workshops for families to work with them on preventing overweight and obesity.
