Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of September 17, 2014.

Over the past week in the region:

  • As expected, there has been a sharp increase in diagnoses of asthma attacks among children aged 2 to 14 and in diagnoses of nasopharyngitis; this increase is typically linked to increased circulation of rhinoviruses following the start of the school year.

  • Based on reports recorded by the Angers Poison Control and Toxicovigilance Center, the InVS reported 61 cases of poisoning related to mushroom ingestion, including 3 severe cases, in the region between June 30 and September 14, 2014. These cases, observed earlier than last year, account for 14% of the 439 cases reported in France.
