Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of September 17, 2014.
Over the past week in the region:
As expected, there has been a sharp increase in diagnoses of asthma attacks among children aged 2 to 14 and in diagnoses of nasopharyngitis; this increase is typically linked to increased circulation of rhinoviruses following the start of the school year.
Based on reports recorded by the Angers Poison Control and Toxicovigilance Center, the InVS reported 61 cases of poisoning related to mushroom ingestion, including 3 severe cases, in the region between June 30 and September 14, 2014. These cases, observed earlier than last year, account for 14% of the 439 cases reported in France.
