Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of September 13, 2016.

Over the past week in the region:

As observed nationwide, SOS Médecins has noted an increase in gastroenteritis cases, with rates higher than in previous years for this time of year. This increase is not reflected in data on emergency room visits for gastroenteritis or reports of clusters of gastroenteritis cases in nursing homes.

The start of the school year is expected to quickly lead to increased circulation of rhinoviruses. In this context, an increase in nasopharyngitis and asthma attacks among children is expected in the coming weeks.

Decrease in consultations at SOS Médecins Nantes for insect bites, with 53 cases in week 36 compared to 116 in week 35.
