Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of October 31, 2017.
Over the past week in the region:
There was an increase in SOS Médecins consultations for bronchiolitis among infants under 2 years of age last week, in contrast to pediatric emergency rooms, where a decrease in visits for bronchiolitis was observed. As is the case every year, the start of the All Saints’ Day school break is expected to slow the spread of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which causes bronchiolitis outbreaks. Since September 1, 24 clusters of acute respiratory infections have been reported in nursing homes across the region.
