Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of October 24, 2017.

Over the past week in the region:

Decrease in asthma-related visits among children (SOS Médecins and emergency departments) over the past month. First week of decline in nasopharyngitis cases. Slight increase in consultations for bronchiolitis among infants under 2 years of age (SOS Médecins and the pediatric emergency department at Nantes University Hospital) last week. However, as is the case every year, the start of the All Saints’ Day school break should slow the spread of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which causes bronchiolitis outbreaks. Since September 1, 24 clusters of acute respiratory infections have been reported in nursing homes across the region.
