Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of October 20, 2015.

Over the past week in the region:

  • SOS Médecins reported a renewed increase in consultations for nasopharyngitis last week. Consultations and emergency room visits for asthma attacks in children remained stable compared to previous weeks. In terms of viral circulation, the Nantes University Hospital laboratory reported active circulation of rhinovirus.

  • Reports of mushroom poisoning, recorded by the Angers Poison Control and Toxicovigilance Center, indicate 84 cases in the region since early July, including 7 during the past week. The 84 cases reported in the region account for 8% of the 1,039 cases reported in France during this period. A Health Watch Bulletin summarizing these poisoning cases in the region in 2013 and 2014 has just been published:http://www.invs.sante.fr/Publications-et-outils/Bulletin-de-veille-sanitaire/Tous-les-numeros/Pays-de-la-Loire/Bulletin-de-veille-sanitaire-Pays-de-la-Loire.-n-28-Septembre-2015
