Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of November 30, 2016.

Over the past week in the region:

An earlier increase in bronchiolitis cases in the eastern part of the region (bronchiolitis cases in the pediatric emergency department at Angers University Hospital over the past two weeks and an increase in visits by infants in Le Mans). In the west, the pediatric emergency department at Nantes University Hospital is seeing a number of visits close to the epidemic threshold, while the SOS Médecins associations in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire report that this threshold was exceeded for the first time last week. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) isolates from virology laboratories indicate a greater increase in Angers than in Nantes last week. Across France, the temporal and spatial spread of bronchiolitis (RSV) outbreaks shows a gradual spread from north to south.First decrease since the All Saints’ Day holidays in SOS Médecins consultations for gastroenteritis. This outbreak has had little impact on pediatric hospital emergency departments, which suggests the circulation of norovirus (with a predominance of vomiting and limited severity).
