Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of November 3, 2015.

Over the past week in the region:

  • A slight increase in SOS Médecins consultations for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age, just reaching the threshold level. At the emergency department of Nantes University Hospital, visits for bronchiolitis remain below the alert threshold. A few rare cases of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) isolation.

  • Decrease in SOS Médecins consultations and emergency room visits for asthma attacks in children aged 2 to 15 years. There was also a significant decrease in SOS Médecins consultations for nasopharyngitis, coinciding with the reported decline in rhinovirus circulation by the Nantes University Hospital laboratory.

  • 96 cases of mushroom poisoning have been reported in the region by the CAPTV since July, including 9 in the past week.

  • Resurgence of clusters of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in nursing homes, with 14 new clusters since the beginning of September.
