Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of November 12, 2014.

Over the past week in the region:

  • The number of emergency room visits at Nantes University Hospital for bronchiolitis decreased in week 45 compared to week 44, falling back below the alert threshold. SOS Médecins visits for bronchiolitis remain at the threshold level. As observed during the previous two seasons, the All Saints’ Day school break slowed the circulation of RSV, impacting the incidence of bronchiolitis.

  • The number of gastroenteritis cases diagnosed by SOS Médecins remains higher than the expected number for the season.

  • The Angers Poison Control and Toxicovigilance Center recorded 104 cases of poisoning related to mushroom ingestion in the region between June 30 and November 9, 2014. ANSES recommendations on mushroom picking and consumption are available at https://www.anses.fr/fr/content/cueillette-et-consommation-de-champignons
