Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of March 12, 2014.

Over the past week in the region:

  • The flu epidemic in the region is subsiding, with a decrease in the number of consultations for flu-like symptoms (SOS Médecins and the Unified Grog-Sentinelles-InVS Network) and in the isolation of influenza viruses.

  • Six new reports of severe influenza over the past week, bringing the total to 34 cases reported by intensive care units, the vast majority of which were type A.

  • The season is characterized by a low number of reports of clusters of acute respiratory infections in nursing homes.

  • The number of gastroenteritis cases seen by SOS Médecins and the number of acute gastroenteritis outbreaks in nursing homes continue to decline.

  • End of the bronchiolitis outbreak.
