Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of June 26, 2013.

Over the past few days in the region:

  • A decrease in the number of asthma attacks seen by SOS Médecins and the emergency department at Nantes University Hospital over the past two weeks;

  • An increase in enterovirus meningitis cases has begun at the Nantes University Hospital over the past week. In France, an increase in enterovirus circulation is observed every year during the summer and fall. Virological data obtained to date by the CNR show that E-30 is predominantly detected in cerebrospinal fluid. This E-30 is closely related to the strains that circulated in 2005 and 2009.
