Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of July 10, 2017.

Over the past week in the region:

There has been a sharp increase in consultations for insect bites (SOS Médecins Nantes) since this weekend. This phenomenon follows the high tides with high tidal coefficients at the end of June, which caused an outbreak of Aedes caspius mosquito eggs in the Loire estuary. These recurring nuisance events have been described in the following BEH. Based on previous observations, this episode should end quickly within less than a week.

Increase in enterovirus meningitis over the past month (emergency departments, SOS Médecins, and university hospital virology laboratories). A national update on these infections is available via the link below. No cases of severe neurological forms linked to EV-A71 or EV-D-68 have been reported to date in France.
