Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of December 15, 2015.
Over the past week in the region:
After five weeks of progression, the bronchiolitis outbreak has plateaued. Based on typical trends, the outbreak is expected to last another week and then decline starting in the first week of school break. RSV circulation remains very active. This outbreak is impacting the number of emergency department visits by infants under one year of age, with a plateau over the past two weeks at nearly 700 visits instead of the 400 expected across the region’s seven sentinel hospitals.
The situation regarding influenza viruses is very calm across the Northern Hemisphere, regardless of the continent.
