An increase in reported cases of hepatitis A since July linked to two factors:

• First, a nationwide and European increase affecting men who have sex with men in particular, since February 2017

• Second, an outbreak that occurred during a family gathering in June in the Vendée region and was linked to the consumption of food prepared by a catering company.
