Addressing disability issues is one of the responsibilities of regional health agencies.

How do regional health agencies address the needs of people with disabilities, both in terms of access to care and the promotion of their overall health? Marie-Sophie Desaulle, Executive Director of the Pays de la Loire Regional Health Agency (ARS), explains in this interview that addressing the needs of this population is a key priority for her agency, in the name of equal access to care and preventive services. The ARS has undertaken efforts to identify needs, strengthen coordination among stakeholders, advocate for accessibility, and fund initiatives and programs. All funding and calls for proposals are open and accessible, ensuring that people with disabilities are at the heart of the agency’s public health priorities, even though considerable work remains to be done.
