Surveillance of Acute Gastroenteritis in Mayotte. Epidemiological Update as of March 6, 2018.
Epidemiological Situation
An overall increase in the number of consultations for acute diarrhea (sentinel physicians) and the number of visits for acute gastroenteritis (CHM emergency department) was observed during the first four weeks of 2018.This increase occurs outside the period when a surge in cases of acute gastroenteritis (AGE) is usually observed each year (from June to September) in Mayotte during the southern winter. To date, no laboratory results have identified the bacterial or viral origin of this surge.
