Epidemiological Situation

Following an increase observed by surveillance systems in August and September 2012, medical activity related to gastroenteritis has been declining during the first two weeks of October. However, the data remain above seasonal averages, and young children continue to be the most affected population. According to virological surveillance, rotavirus continues to circulate on the island.
