Epidemiological situation: moderate-scale outbreak

In Réunion, the end of the southern winter is a typical period for a resurgence of influenza. Since late August, there has been an increase in outpatient visits for flu-like symptoms, though this remains within seasonal averages. However, the number of emergency room visits for flu-like symptoms decreased last week. Virological surveillance confirms the identification of influenza A(H3N2) and B viruses in samples collected by sentinel physicians.
