Key Points

Chikungunya

  • Reunion Island is experiencing a low-intensity outbreak. However, confirmed cases are still being reported across all municipalities on the island.

Dengue

  • Last confirmed local case in week 17. Identification of an imported case in week 23.

Leptospirosis

  • The seasonal resurgence is still ongoing. It is important to consider a diagnosis of leptospirosis to ensure prompt treatment (antibiotic therapy under medical supervision) and limit the risk of severe illness or even death.

Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI)

  • Health indicators for flu-like syndromes are rising, with limited public health impact. Increased circulation of influenza viruses, with concurrent circulation of influenza A (H3N2) and influenza B. For bronchiolitis, health indicators remain at baseline levels.

Gastroenteritis

  • Surveillance indicators in primary care and hospitals (all ages combined) are rising, with a low health impact.
