Over the past 15 days, 4 new cases have been reported. A total of 63 locally acquired cases have been identified since the beginning of the year. Of these 4 cases, 3 are recent, with onset dates ranging from July 6 to July 20.
The outbreak in Saint-Gilles-les-Bains (Carosse) is still active. One case has been linked to transmission in the active viral circulation zone of Saint-Gilles-les-Bains (Carosse).
A new case has been reported in Saint-Paul (Tour des Roches), raising suspicion of a viral circulation zone.
One case has been reported in Le Port and does not appear to be linked to known areas of viral circulation.
A previous case (DDS 26/06) has been reported in Le Tampon and does not appear to be linked to known areas of viral circulation.
Despite the arrival of the southern winter, current weather conditions allow for persistent viral circulation.
The active outbreak in Saint-Gilles-les-Bains / Carosse (15 cases) reported a single new case: DDS as of 07/17. A new outbreak is suspected in Saint-Paul (Tour des Roches). The other previously identified outbreaks now appear to be inactive or only minimally active. In addition to these outbreaks, 15 isolated cases with no reported link to these areas of viral circulation have been identified in various municipalities across the island since the beginning of the year. Furthermore, 5 imported cases were identified at the start of the year. Figure 2 presents all cases by place of residence.
