Dengue Surveillance in Mayotte. Update as of April 30, 2020.
Key Points
3,870 cases of dengue fever have been reported since the start of the outbreak, including 3,684 confirmed cases in 2020.
A decrease in confirmed cases has been observed since S11; this is due to a significant underestimation (linked to the consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic) and does not reflect the epidemiological reality.
Syndromic surveillance does not allow us to confirm that the peak has been reached.
The entire territory is affected by viral circulation.
Only the DENV-1 serotype is circulating, but there is a risk of other serotypes being imported from the Indian Ocean region
Weather conditions remain favorable for mosquito proliferation
