Chikungunya in Réunion: An Anthropological Perspective on Social Mobilization

In 2005, a chikungunya outbreak struck the island of Réunion for the first time. An anthropological study conducted shortly thereafter provided insights into the population’s behavior and the social mobilization that took place—knowledge that has helped refine prevention strategies.
