Seasonal conditions: asthma, allergies, and conjunctivitis In Week 23, nationwide, according to emergency departments participating in the Oscour® network, emergency room visits for asthma showed a clear upward trend (+22% across all age groups), affecting primarily adults under 75 (+48%) and children aged 2 to 14 (+15%). The current level of visits exceeds that of the previous two years, possibly due to the late arrival of spring weather conditions. These trends are also observed across various SOS Médecins networks, particularly in western and central-eastern regions, with a 45% increase in emergency responses for asthma attacks among children and adults under 75.Among children aged 2 to 14, there was also an increase in emergency room visits for fever alone, as well as for other conditions typically seen during this season, namely allergies (+27%) and conjunctivitis (+104%). According to SOS Médecins, allergies are also on the rise (+72%) among children over 2 years old and especially among adults under 75.
