Public Health Surveillance in the Midi-Pyrénées Region. Epidemiological Update as of January 6, 2016.

Bronchiolitis Outbreak: Signs of a Decline in the OutbreakHealth indicators collected from private and hospital settings during the previous week suggest that the bronchiolitis outbreak is subsiding in our region.Indeed, in week 53, weekly indicators were declining for the first time in hospital settings since week 46 and for the second consecutive week in private practice (SOS Médecins 31). The epidemic peak therefore appears to have passed, in weeks 51 and 52 respectively according to these two data sources, with hospital settings in particular showing higher activity than that observed during previous winter seasons. However, as virological data continued to rise in week 53, RSV circulation in Midi-Pyrénées remains sustained.Regional indicators are presented on page 9 of this Epidemiological Update. These data are consistent with those observed more broadly in the Languedoc-Roussillon–Midi-Pyrénées region.
